AGRC Candidate Statement Treasurer – Laura Ramsey

Since I’m running unopposed, my primary promise is to continue to ensure implementation of the procedures and controls created by Jackie Terrell, my predecessor. We now have better transparency of where our funds are distributed and a more formal process for documenting expenditures.
My colleague, Judi Carr, will be assuming my previous 2017 responsibilities as Secretary. Together, we will attach the Treasurer’s report to the approved minutes for the previous month on The Garden Gazette, AGRC website. (Although the Minutes require membership approval prior to posting, the Treasurer's report does not. In accordance with Roberts Rules, the review and approval of the Treasurer’s report(s) is satisfied by the audit required by the current Bylaws.)
AGRC and the current Board have had a productive year. A great deal of that success is because the current President, Ruth Dean, has recruited a large number of enthusiastic and energetic volunteers, who keep saying “yes” when asked to participate. They have made a significant contribution to the success of both fun-filled events, and excellent educational programs. I too have enjoyed being a member of her team that accomplished so much this year. She merits re-election and I encourage you to consider voting for her.
Finally, regardless of which candidates you support, know that your vote is very important. The window for voting is rather narrow (9:00am to 3:00pm). Please arrange for an absentee ballot if you might not be able to vote in person on Friday, November 17.
