Seattle Office of Emergency Management had a focused interview on Fox 13 about being prepared focused on the theme this year of “Prepared Neighbors”. Hollie Stark is one of the 3 people working on the OEM Community Engagement team and did a great job explaining why knowing your neighbors is so important. Watch the six-minute video HERE.
RV PARKING and CAMPS
Camp Second Chance (CSC) is the nearest sanctioned camp, consisting of 60+ tiny houses.
CSC is administered by LIHI, Low Income Housing Institute, with a camp manager and case workers to help residents move to permanent housing.
CSC meets monthly online with a Community Advisor Committee (CAC). Meeting minutes are available. John Walling D424 is a member of the CAC.

LIHI’s new tiny house village will operate as an enhanced shelter and includes 20 tiny houses, 72 RV parking spaces, a community kitchen, hygiene facilities, laundry room, and common areas. Staff offices include space for the Glassyard Commons manager, case managers, shelter monitors, and a behavioral health professional. Ground breaking ceremony was on September 10, 2026.
