About blogs and DIRECTORY pages

A "blog" (weblog) is an informational web page consisting of discrete entries ("posts") displayed in reverse chronological order (the most recent post appears first). Each blog on this website is dedicated to a topic and it may be maintained by one contributor or it may receive content from multiple contributors and be maintained by the website editors. The oldest blog posts on a web page are automatically pushed to separate linked pages. In addition to text, blogs can include images, videos, and sound recordings (podcasts).

 Another kind of web page is called a "directory page" which has more structured content than blogs and is relatively static compared to blogs. (Examples of directory pages are this page and Community.) Contributors may recommend content for directory pages.
