Diane R for President 2018

11/10/2017

I ask for your vote as I believe under my leadership the AGRC welcomes all in our community and will grow.

The AGRC Mission Statement is its core:

To, provide a welcoming environment within the Arrowhead Gardens Community; opportunities for friendship, recreation, wellness and education, empowering seniors to continue an active and independent lifestyle.

I have continued to expand our activities via suggestions from you, and my own initiatives.

I began what is now a 5 year partnership with Bartell Drug, created the  successful Wellness Fairs.  The idea that we could have a successful Craft Fair has succeeded for 5 years now, allowing artists to show their works and make some money too.

I started the Straight Arrow News.

The AGRC works with other residents’ organizations giving a collective voice to improve problem solving and building residents independence.

There are on site Legal Clinics, chair massage and foot care (coming soon).

We have invited political candidates to meet with us, engaged the City of Seattle, WADOT and Police to help us work through neighborhood  issues. I have continued to bring these resources to you throughout this past year.

I continue to work hard for the residents, addressing your concerns to the best of my ability.  I am not a miracle worker, but I am a HARD WORKER.  Let’s continue to grow this great independent community with as much innovation as possible.

Please I ask for your vote for AGRC President.

Diane L Radischat
Candidate for President of the AGRC

Ruth D for President 2018

11/3/2017

Ruth Dean, Candidate for AGRC President in 2018

I’ve been a resident of Arrowhead Gardens for almost 7 years now.  However, the amount of time I’ve lived here is not important.  What counts, I feel, is the quality of my contributions to this, my home, and to my friends and neighbors.

I’ve always been an active member of AGRC, serving in one capacity or another.  You’ve also seen me volunteering at the Food Bank, the monthly Birthday Social, and many other Arrowhead Gardens events. I’ve been honored to serve as your President during what I consider to have been a very active and progressive year.

But the key to all this activity and progress is an increasing team of volunteers who just keep saying “Yes” when asked to participate.  My goal is to create the positive and rewarding environment that has encouraged this level of commitment.   I consider it important that our friends and neighbors are treated with the dignity and the respect we all deserve.

As many of you know, I’m very uncomfortable using the world “I”  I’d rather use “U and I’.  Working together we have accomplished a great deal this year.  And, I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.

If reelected, I promise that we will just keep doing what is working so well. I would appreciate your vote.  Thank you.

Judi C for Treasurer 2018

10/27/2017

Hi, I'm Judi Carr

Most of you know me as the friendly Building Rep for Building C the past 2 years.

Or you might know me from the Food Bank or directing the Christmas Choir.

I'm all that and much more.

As Secretary, I'm looking forward to supporting the President as I have been doing this year as one of Ruth's right hand.

This also means that I will accurately record the minutes of the Executive Committee and the General meetings so you all know what's going on.

As Secretary, I can be available as a mentor and coordinator for the Building Reps, if they want to do that.

So please vote for me on Friday, November 17 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Laura R for Treasurer 2018

Since I’m running unopposed, my primary promise is to continue to ensure implementation of the procedures and controls created by Jackie Terrell, my predecessor. We now have better transparency of where our funds are distributed and a more formal process for documenting expenditures.

My colleague, Judi Carr, will be assuming my previous 2017 responsibilities as Secretary. Together, we will attach the Treasurer’s report to the approved minutes for the previous month on The Garden Gazette, AGRC website. (Although the Minutes require membership approval prior to posting, the Treasurer's report does not. In accordance with Roberts Rules, the review and approval of the Treasurer’s report(s) is satisfied by the audit required by the current Bylaws.)

AGRC and the current Board have had a productive year. A great deal of that success is because the current President, Ruth Dean, has recruited a large number of enthusiastic and energetic volunteers, who keep saying “yes” when asked to participate. They have made a significant contribution to the success of both fun-filled events, and excellent educational programs. I too have enjoyed being a member of her team that accomplished so much this year. She merits re-election and I encourage you to consider voting for her.

Finally, regardless of which candidates you support, know that your vote is very important. The window for voting is rather narrow (9:00am to 3:00pm). Please arrange for an absentee ballot if you might not be able to vote in person on Friday, November 17.

Billie O for A Rep 2018

10/7/2017

My name is Billie Overgaard and I am running for Building Representative in Building A.  I have lived in Building A since I moved to Arrowhead Gardens on December 1, 2013 and have had the privilege of being served by a number of outstanding Building Representatives.  Judy Brooks, Barbara Belt, Stephanie Leiberman and Nancy H especially come to mind.  Now I feel it's my turn to pay some of that generosity back, even though Judy Brooks and Barbara Belt no longer reside here.  Please support me in my candidacy and in turn I will try my best to be a good Building Representative to you.

Nancy H for A Rep 2018

9/18/2017

I would be honored to be one of Bldg A's bldg reps.
