Bonnie speaking at the IAGG Age Stage Program

Bonnie's Column

It's always a good week when you can spend days listening and learning about Creative Aging. That's what happened on the Age Stage during the recent IAGG World Conference in San Francisco. Audience members explored art, music and theatre performances, readings, films, and so much more. It was an honor to present "The Wonderful World of Senior Theatre" to an enthusiastic crowd. Click here to see the entire program.

We hope you're having a wonderful summer!

Yours in Theatre,

Great tool to help you choose children's literature with positive images of aging

Miss Moore Thought Otherwise: How Anne Carroll Moore
Created Libraries for Children

For many years, Dr. Sandra McGuire has been passionate about helping children read books that show older adults in a positive light. She reviews current children's literature and complies a carefully selected list of books for parents, grandparents, and teachers. You'll find that "Growing up and Growing Older" is a rich and useful survey because of its meaningful portrayals of older adults, all to promote positive aging. It's a delightful and fun list. Click here to take a look!

For Senior Theatre: Use this book list to select storytelling pieces or as a basis for plays performed for young audiences.
